GARY C. LOOK, Ph.D.

Dr. Look has nearly 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and has expertise in combinatorial and medicinal chemistry. Dr. Look has acquired experience in managing external collaborations and has worked closely with patent attorneys and agents on IP issues. Prior to starting Look BioPharma Consulting, Dr. Look was Project Leader and Head of Chemistry at Acumen Pharmaceuticals, a company dedicated to the discovery of treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Look has also worked in the drug discovery programs of various biopharmaceutical companies, including, Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Protein Design Laboratories, and Affymax Research Institute.
Dr. Look holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of California, Irvine. He was an American Cancer Society Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla.
Dr. Look is a member of the American Chemical Society, The Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The International Society of Heterocyclic Chemistry, and the Society for Neuroscience. He is a co-inventor on numerous patent applications and a co-author on multiple peer reviewed publications.
